Historical and cultural contexts of cities great monuments of culture, native architecture and urban planning and considered as part of the social identity of each nation and country. Historic- cultural cities based on historic and hereditary resources have many opportunities for tourists; therefore, they are the main centers of attracting tourists. Shiraz metropolitan with rich cultural- historical backgrounds and possesses historical landscapes has high potential to attract domestic and foreign tourists. However this city can’t use so much from this industry as a source of income. Several factors are involved in this issue, disproportion land uses around the collection of Zandieh that have world-renowned, can including these factors. It is seem to be the main causes for this incompatibility, for good performance of this landuses, with locating Incompatible landuses within radius of Zandieh series use the agglomeration of population in this part of city and they were neglected from being incompatibile of this landuses with series of Zandiyeh artefacts . This study was done with aims to assess appropriateness of land uses in old contexts of Shiraz with an emphasis on the Zandieh collection which according to the nature of research used descriptive - analytical method. Results indicate that the land uses around this monuments haven’t good appropriateness which with giving help from GIS can provide suitable condition for analyzing current situation of land uses around Zandieh collection.

21The main purpose of this study is to organize old texture of the city and motivate inhabitants to stay in the area through improving spatial quality. In the process of unbalanced urban development, large proportion of downtown old texture, with its structural deficiency, represents an environment which has become living place for immigrants and low-income groups. Central texture of Rafsanjan follows trend of gentrification theory. This texture suffers from inappropriate structural characteristics and is in a low position regarding structural index. Gentrification theory is the main framework used in the study which emphasizes house reformation and improving residential environment. Based on the theory, decreasing physical quality of the neighborhoods results in capital outflow and replacing original high-income groups with low-income ones. Data collection was carried out using laboratory and field research. Quantitative methods, descriptive-analytical techniques and SPSS analysis model were used to investigate relationships between parameters and their strength and weakness. In addition, GIS was used to reflect sample size on its location. Then analyses will be presented in a graphical format. Finally, SWOT table and suggestions will be provided.

successful tourism planning requires marketing. This process has many components and elements; Supply and demand are the most important components. Understanding the absolute and relative importance of supply and demand in tourism marketing process can provide the conceptual framework for understanding the nature of decision-making in tourists and in this way it might be effective in the development of current markets and the prosperity of tourism destinations. This study, adopting an analytical - descriptive approach and utilizing field studies and documents, aimed to identify the characteristics of supply and demand of tourism in Mahallat. It also analyzed their functions through SWOT model. The results indicated that young tourists (under 30 years old) and those with academic educations and tourism markets in neighboring provinces are the most important characteristics of the demand section and the poor performance of supply section is in the provision of infrastructure and lack of adequate facilities and attractions. Final Swot analysis conducted based on research findings in both supply and demand sections indicated that weaknesses with a score of 4.03 were in the first place and strengths with a score of 3.84 in the second place and the opportunities and threats, respectively, with the scores of 3.72and 3.55 in the third and fourth priorities. Therefore, considering the different impact of these factors, WO practical strategies to exit from the current situation and then SO strategies for creating appropriate space for the development of the tourism of this region were proposed and prioritized for planning.

Using of land and natural resources, without considering the environmental and ecological potential, cause the adverse effects and environment degradation. Geomorphic forms and processes are the prevailing natural features and disasters that have caused damage to the humans and the environment via theirs properties. This study investigates the suitable positions of urban settlements development in the Yasouj according to geomorphic forms and processes. In this regard, according to region's natural characteristics, 5 criteria, 15 sub-criteria and 84 classes were identified in order to achieve goals. First, layers slope, aspect, elevation classes, lithology, settlement density, distance from settlement, landuse, road density, distance from road, fault density, distance from fault, density river, distance from river, rainfall and temperature were prepared via basic maps of Yasouj, and were analyzed. Then, these factors were evaluated and were weighed by AHP model. At the end, their raster layers were integrated by Arc GIS 10 software, and final map of urban settlements development in the study area were drawn. Finally, to confirm the results, the final map was evaluated with the current map of the city Yasouj comparatively. The results show that among the effecting factors, sub-criteria of slope, lithology and distance from settlement, with weights of 0.205, 0.129 and 0.104,have been identified as the most important factors in the site selection of Yasouj urban settlements, respectively. According to final map, about %13.46 (37.56 Km2) and %24.44 (68.406 Km2) of the study area are very suitable and suitable for the development of urban settlements, respectively.

Cities forward to develop upon dangerous natural-infrastructures, while there is lack of proper and immediate urbanism law and provision. This condition, moreover to that exceeds the amount of these kinds of dangers, leads to make the most possible victims because of civil population concentration. This process suggests it is serious to determine the dangerous areas and plan for preventing development into the dangerous areas; because determining safe civil areas cannot be applied by the automated civil growth and the intentional targets of house-building dealers. For this reason, this research –using descriptive and analytic method- is seeking to survey Birjand’s physical civil growth and how this city is developed into dangerous areas, and then spots controlling and directing condition of building development growth. The research has been applied by descriptive and analytic method and the results show that not also the physical civil growth has been intensified, but if the civil population concentration has been increased after upgrading the city to province center, while this concentration is distributed without regarding dangerous factors and areas. Therefore, targeted and legal intervention to direct house-building path and refining executive solutions for minimizing damages and victims seem necessary.

In the present paper, status of the urban network in the provinces of Khorasan, North Khorasan, Razavi and South are studied and thoroughly assess the degree of balance or imbalance has been determined. The aim of this study was to evaluate the spatial relationship between urban network Khorasan provinces and cities are each other. Method used in this study was a descriptive – analytical. The results indicate that in the northern province is governed by a town or city center and This has led to a relative balance in the structure of space. While the level of the Khorasan Razavi Province, the first rule is Mashhad. South Khorasan is relatively balanced urban network based on entropy method. Because this is not the Metropolis of Mashhad in this province, such as first class city in the province is located in the central cities. Implementing policies to achieve this balanced urban network Expansion of infrastructure investments in small and medium towns and implementation of appropriate policies to attract them. With the implementation of these programs can be a big difference in the size of towns and cities in an urban system that reduces low rating. And effective step toward narrowing development gap between urban and balancing network in major cities and small towns in the middle is considered.

Nowadays, quality and quantity of journals is one of the main aspects of development of any country. Thus, the authors are aiming to present the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of 13 scientific journals related to urban & regional planning through content analysis of them. Content analysis is one of the major and practical methods that make accurate analysis of content data, possible for researchers in order to investigate these investments. This method is one of the most practical quantitative methods in social science. So that analyzing the series of documents such as articles and books, could be mentioned as the most applications of this method. This article is one of the attributive researches. Also analytical – descriptive methods and quantitative-qualitative approaches is used. Considered statistical society contains 954 published articles of 13 journal in Geography, urban and Regional planning- Journal of urban and regional studies, Journal of human geography research, Geography research, Geography and development Iranian journal, Geography, Geography and environmental planning, Journal of geography and regional development research, Soffeh, Geographic space, Urban management and …- from 2008 -2011. Urban open spaces are invaluable assets in maintaining ecological health in a highly developed urban matrix. Unfortunately, habitat values and ecological quality of these areas are often challenged by consecutive urbanization. The assessment of changing structure and function of an urban space system is crucial in maintaining livable cities. General characteristics and type of open spaces are investigated in case study – Mashhad city. The possible impacts of urban landscape change on the ecological qualities of natural open space patches are explored by using a landscape structure indicator. Even though various conceptual and analytical approaches exist in measuring the ecological integrity of natural systems, in this paper specifically deals with isolation issues. Because an isolated open space system loses its ecological integrity, isolation index yields meaningful result for anticipating the possible threats generated by urban structure. Isolation trends of urban open spaces are displayed. Also, numbers yielded by the isolation index presented. GIS seems to be an appropriate tool to evaluate the intricate attributes involved in the phenomenon. Black- white and colored aerial photographs of the city of Mashhad in various date and other data are available are used for the analysis in GIS environment. The results show some eye-opening facts with regards to the planning and management of urban open spaces, and possible threats to the ecological viability of theses precious areas in the future.

Based on the statistical evidence, The Earth's climate is warming and it happened particularly in the urban areas. For example, the annual average temperature in Iran's third largest pollution metropolitan-Karaj, during the period 1960 to 2008 increased about 2.256 degrees Celsius. The heating effect on the human environment has more features and derived urban heat island becomes more severe and lead to increasing air pollution in urban environments. Energy consumption increased to create favorable conditions of human living. Generally increasing temperature in urban environments poses serious problems and costs. The only way to prevent or at least mitigate these problems is Change the physical structure of the city in order to adapt the heating suitable place.Due to the high value and low land area of green space in the metropolitan cities,it seems that choosing green roof technology in large cities is a suitable altenative because of improved quality and it,s impact on sustainability of the urban environment. The main objective of this research is to introduce green roofs system and its impact on reducing the heat-island phenomenon. The temperature effect of green roofs in comperative study with other roofs were analyzed on micro climate scale and simulated by using Derob software. The finding is clearly shown that there is considerable reduction in temperature capacity. The results show that impact of heat island can be reduced by developing green roofs in the future constructed buildings in comparison with other roofs.
