Abstract:People's mental health is significantly affected by their living environment, and the World Health Organization emphasizes the importance of this issue. Not paying attention to the impact of the environment on the mental health of citizens, especially the elderly, can lead to mental and physical problems such as anxiety, stress, aggression and depression. The current research was carried out with the aim of measuring the environmental quality of public spaces at the level of neighborhoods in Region 4 of Rasht city and investigating its relationship with the general health (physical and mental) of the elderly. This research is applied in terms of purpose, descriptive-analytical in terms of method, and documentary and survey-based in terms of data collection methods. The statistical population of the research comprised elderly residents in District 4 of Rasht Municipality. The sample size was estimated to be 400 people using the Cochran formula. To assess the mental health of the elderly, the GHQ-28 questionnaire was used, and to evaluate the environmental quality of urban public spaces, a researcher-made questionnaire was employed. Additionally, data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and one-way ANOVA statistical tests. The research findings showed that between mental health variables with pedestrian-oriented variables with a coefficient(-0/589), security and comfort with a coefficient(-0/634), urban furniture with a coefficient(-0/636), environment quality and landscape with a coefficient(-0/620) and index of access to public spaces with coefficient(-0/657) there is a significant and inverse relationship and correlation.

In this research, the images of Landsat satellite 5, 7 and 8 (in the years 1987, 2001 and 2014) are used respectively to examine the process of the changes in urban green space of Gorgan City. After doing the necessary pre-processing operations in the images, the maps of land use/cover for each year were provided in three classes including built-up, barren land and green spaces by using supervised classification method. The accuracy of the classification process was assessed later. The findings showed that the green space has decreased about 4.55 km2 during 1987 - 2001. In addition, built areas has increased during the years of 2001–2014 at the rate of 15.39% equivalent to 5.48 km2, while green space has decreased 1.98 km2. The finding resulted from examining the process of changes during the 27 years reveal that green space has decreased significantly despite the physical expansion of the city, so that it has reduced from 16.40 km2 in 1987 to 9.87 km2 in 2014. The findings of this research can be considered as an effective step towards better management of Gorgan’s urban green space.

The main goal of this research is to evaluate the dimensions of vitality in the Esfris sidewalk in Ardebil city and to provide effective solutions in order to improve the vitality of the sidewalk. The research is descriptive-analytical and practical in terms of purpose, the statistical population of which is the citizens who have visited the sidewalk, and because it is uncertain, the sample size estimation formula for the statistical population with an indefinite limit was used, which using Cochran's formula, 385 citizens were selected. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, the reliability of which was obtained using Cronbach's alpha of 0.75, indicating the good reliability of the questionnaire. 31 components were selected in the four dimensions of use and activity, physical, access and communication, and environment, and in line with the answer to the research problem, from the analysis based on the appropriate statistical tests in the SPSS (1-sample t-test and Friedman) were used. In relation to the innovation of the present research, it can be said that no research has been done on the vitality of the Esfris sidewalk until now. The results show that the average of user and activity, physical, access, communication, and environmental dimensions is significantly higher than the average criterion (No. 3), which indicates a relatively favorable situation and somewhat higher than average. The results of Friedman's test also showed that the ranking of the dimensions is meaningful from the point of view of the citizens, and the citizens have different ratings of the dimensions of the vitality of the sidewalk.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatial distribution of educational land use in Ardebil. In this regard, using spatial statistics models, hot spot analysis and spatial autocorrelation in ArcGIS software, the spatial distribution of educational applications in Ardebil was investigated. Research data were collected by documentary method with reference to relevant sources and organizations. The use of spatial statistics analysis methods in the distribution of educational uses and temporal data (2016) and location (neighborhoods of Ardabil) is one of the innovations of the present study. The obtained results showed that areas 6, 7 and 10 of Zone 3 and Zone 6 of Zone 1 were blocks with high educational use weight and high concentration of hot spots. Finally area 11, of Zone 1, area 11, areas 3 and areas 4, 8 and 9 of Zone 2 were low training weight blocks and low concentrations of hot spots, which were at a lower level in terms of stability. Also, according to Moran index, the spatial distribution of educational land uses in Ardebil was clustered. The results of regression function analysis in Idrisi environment also showed that there was a positive correlation between educational use and population, educational use and residential, medical, law enforcement, commercial, commercial service and sports uses. Nonetheless there was a negative correlation between cultural use and green space and workshop-industrial use. The use of spatial statistics analysis methods in the distribution of educational land uses and data of temporal and location are the innovations of the present study.
