Today, one of the principles of urban planning is attention to informed and active participation of citizens in all aspects of development. Therefore, what is unquestionable need for urban management now, it is Necessary changes in the use of participatory approaches and satisfy citizens. this study is studied Mahabad city aimed to evaluate the performance of urban management from the perspective of citizen participation and satisfaction. It is an applied research and its method is descriptive- analytic. Reviewing concepts and principles of research, field study is used to collect data 384 questionnaires distributed among the citizens associated. The results indicate a very high willingness of citizens to participate in urban management. However, studies show no significant long history of public participation in urban management and more physical participation, However, the results of the Spearman correlation test indicates a statistically significant positive correlation between the amount already exist citizen participation in urban management and their satisfaction. This research also concludes that the factors affecting the level of citizen participation in urban management can be divided in four dimensions: personal, economic, social and management, in this respect, among the individual factors, physical and mental health of citizens is index influential, among the social factors is dependence on location, among the economic factors is economic profitability participation and finally among the management factors is institutional trust(mutual trust between people and urban management).

Nowadays, quality and quantity of journals is one of the main aspects of development of any country. Thus, the authors are aiming to present the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of 13 scientific journals related to urban & regional planning through content analysis of them. Content analysis is one of the major and practical methods that make accurate analysis of content data, possible for researchers in order to investigate these investments. This method is one of the most practical quantitative methods in social science. So that analyzing the series of documents such as articles and books, could be mentioned as the most applications of this method. This article is one of the attributive researches. Also analytical – descriptive methods and quantitative-qualitative approaches is used. Considered statistical society contains 954 published articles of 13 journal in Geography, urban and Regional planning- Journal of urban and regional studies, Journal of human geography research, Geography research, Geography and development Iranian journal, Geography, Geography and environmental planning, Journal of geography and regional development research, Soffeh, Geographic space, Urban management and …- from 2008 -2011. The results show that more than half of the articles published in the last three years had a period of more than six months from the stage of acceptance to print. Peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals. long stretch of time - in addition to a research infrastructure for research misconduct ; itself is a factor contributing to the decline in the value of documents and papers.
